Covid-19 Update
We are in constant receipt of information from the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education regarding safe practice at school in relation to Covid-19.  Below are links to information to assist you in talking with your whanau about Covid-19 as well as how to access up to date information.  We are continually reminding students of safe hygienic practices at all times:
  • hand hygiene – that is, washing hands regularly with soap and water, or cleansing with hand sanitiser
  • staying at home if you are sick
  • coughing or sneezing into a tissue or your elbow and then performing hand hygiene
  • cleaning surfaces regularly.
Talking to children and young people about COVID-19

Given the rise in the number of reported cases, there may be children or young people in your life who experience distress. As a trusted adult, you can help reassure and educate them about COVID-19 – it can be good to talk to them now, so they can understand the illness and be reassured.

A useful resource for parents, caregivers, whānau and teachers talking about the virus with children and young people can be found here

This can also be downloaded as an information sheet.
