Digital Citizenship

Digital citizenship is reinforced daily. Students sign a Digital Citizenship agreement on enrolment with whanau to understand the expectations and consequences. This poster has a simplified version of the rules when using devices and internet at Heretaunga.

Digital Devices and Opportunities

Google Suite is the system used by our school and if bringing their own devices - Chromebooks are preferred.

Some of the digital equipment and opportunities available to Heretaunga students include:

  • 22 Chromebooks and 5 iPads per class.

  • Robotics equipment - EV3 Lego Robots that all students have access to.

  • Robotics at T3.

  • Makey Makey equipment

  • Beebots

  • EPRO8 equipment - we enter the local competitions each year.

  • Students can be trained to run the Sound Booth for assemblies and some students are given chances to repair broken devices when opportunities arise.

Digital Curriculum

All staff have had PLD with Digi Circus. We incorporate the new Digital Curriculum Outcomes across the curriculum. This involves two key areas - design and development of digital outcomes (DDDO) and computational thinking (CT).
